Danny ‘Cassius’ Connor has vowed to bounce back following his Prizefighter final defeat last Saturday at York Hall, Bethnal Green.

The 27-year-old current southern area light-welterweight champion from Hackbridge had to settle for the £16,000 runners-up prize when he was stopped in the second round by red-hot bookies favourite Welshman Chris Jenkins, who earlier defeated Sutton’s Tony Owen in round one.

En route to the final Connor, who is managed by Bruce Baker, beat Charlie Rice and Ryan ‘Crash Bang’ Taylor.

“I’m gutted,” said a devastated Connor.  “The better man won on the night.

“I got caught with a cracking shot that I didn't even see coming but hey that's boxing and you can't go swimming and not get wet.

“Prides hurt but make no mistake about it I will be back.”
