Mace wins race to English Schools discus gold

Walton Athletics Club star Sophie Mace won U15 women’s discus gold at the English Schools Championships in Gateshead last Friday.
The 13-year-old Molesey youngster threw 37.48m to claim the title and add to the Surrey Schools Championship and Surrey County Championship crowns she won earlier this summer.
Meanwhile, Walton clubmate Carla Letheby, 18, threw 38.17m to collect a bronze medal in the women’s U20 event on Saturday.
Kingston & Polytechnic Harriers sprinter Tucker Bryant set a personal best of 21.93 seconds as the 18-year-old finished seventh in the U20s 200m final.
