TRANSPORT for London has issued travel advice for anyone travelling to Olympic Games events tomorrow (July 30).

Spectators going to Greenwich Park for the equestrian cross-country event are advised to avoid London Bridge station.

TfL says this station will be extremely busy and services will already be full so people heading to the event are advised to go via Charing Cross, Cannon Street or Victoria instead.

Anyone travelling to Kent, from platforms one to six, is advised London Bridge will be exit only from 6pm to 10pm.

Docklands Light Railway services are expected to be busy between Canning Town and Prince Regent, as well as between Bank and Greenwich.

The busiest stations on the line will be Bank and Canary Wharf.

On the Jubilee Line the busiest section will be between Wembley Park and Stratford with Bond Street, Canary Wharf, London Bridge and Southwark set to be the busiest stations.

Between Earl’s Court and Southfields will be the busiest section of the District Line and Fulham Broadway will be the busiest station.

To avoid queues at Stratford spectators are advised to consider using West Ham for the Olympic Park, it is a 20 minute direct walk and is signposted.

On the Central Line the busiest stretch will be between Chancery Lane and Stratford and Bank, Bond Street, Chancery Lane, Holborn and St. Paul’s will be the busiest stations.

The busiest section of the Northern Line is set to be between London Bridge and King’s Cross St. Pancras.

The busiest stations will be Bank, Euston, King’s Cross St. Pancras, London Bridge and Old Street.

On the Piccadilly Line the busiest part will be between Holborn and Earl’s Court and the busiest stations will be Holborn and King’s Cross St. Pancras.

Bus diversions

Many bus services will be running slightly different routes tomorrow.

Check tfl.gov.uk/2012buses to see if your bus will be on diversion.

Driving advice

Motorists are advised to avoid driving into central London, on and around the Olympic Route Network (ORN) and near Games venues and live sites throughout the Games.

Greenwich town centre is expected to be exceptionally busy tomorrow, particularly before 11am and after 5.30pm.

All approaches of the Blackwall Tunnel are set to be busy because of events at Greenwich Park and the Royal Artillery Barracks.

Other areas to avoid:

  • A4 Corridor (Earl’s Court) - Shepherd’s Bush Roundabout to Fulham Broadway, Turnham Green and Knightsbridge.
  • A40/A406 (Wembley Stadium and Arena) - Neasden to Acton and Hanger Lane.
  • Chelsea and Wandsworth (Wimbledon) - Putney Heath to Vauxhall, including Wandsworth town centre, Battersea and southern parts of Fulham and Chelsea.
  • Stratford (Olympic Park) and St John’s Wood (Lord’s Cricket Ground)
