Rob Powell may be the man of moment in Rugby League but the Harlequins RL coach doesn't really care.

In his first season as a first team coach, Powell has led Quins to four wins out of five in Super League, the latest an impressive victory at St Helens on Friday night.

The run of form led to Powell being named coach of the month, Luke Gale player of the month and Chad Randall, Luke Dorn and Tony Clubb were all included in the team of the month alongside Gale.

Powell, the youngest coach in Super League, did not care for his personal accolade though.

"No I am not really happy to get it," he said.

"To me it is an acknowledgement that the players and the staff have worked really well since I came in and if a coach picked up a reward called that and just talked about themselves then they have missed the boat a little bit.

"It has been a massive team effort and the reward is for the team.

"I don't see why it is called coach of the month, it should be called team of the month.

"Luke does deserve to win his award though and that is one I am happy to talk about.

"He has been a great for us and it is good for him to get the award as he deserves it this month.

"Traditionally we struggle to get people rewarded so it is good for him and he has played really well."

Early tries by Dorn and Karl Pryce set Quins on their way to victory against St Helens before Clubb and Nick Koupartisas sealed a surprisingly comfortable win.

Despite the big scalp of beating the five-time title winners in their own backyard, Powell was keeping his feet firmly on the ground.

"Who we beat is something that is more interesting to journalists," he said.

"Every time we play someone in Super League it is going to be a tough game and it is good to get two points whether it is away or at home and whoever it is against.

"There is no real secret, we are just trying to give the players something they understand and things that are achievable.

"The guys are trusting each other and they and are pretty understanding of what we are trying to do here.

"We feel really pleased about how things are going but we are not getting carried away and we will keep trying to compete and play like we are doing."

Next three games: Mar 20 Warrington (a), 27 Hull FC (h), Apr 3 Bradford (a).
