Three Tadworth members joined 1,700 runners for the Beachy Head Marathon, a tough yet scenic race around the clifftops and country parks in the Eastbourne area involving around 3,500ft of ascent with many gates, stiles and steps to negotiate.
Peter Rand was 255th in four hours, 28 minutes, 25 minutes faster than he managed last year, with Alan Imeson and Mike Black finishing together in 556th and 557th, clocking five hours, six minutes.
Meanwhile, Dave Williamson (36:26) was eighth out of 206 runners at the Ronhill Surrey Classic 10km race at Oxshot, with Steve Hutton 35th and first man over-55 (41:58) and Roland Hogg 98th (49:56).
