WONDER WOMAN: Lucy Hasell-McAkister beat all the men to win Saturday’s Richmond Park 5km parkrun. The Thames Hare & Hounds runner, a teacher at St Paul’s in Barnes, clocked 17 minutes, 59 seconds on her event debut, to finish 19 seconds clear of Highgate’s Chris Bailey.

SYMONS STARS: Dave Symons, of Thames Hare & Hounds, won the Wimbledon Common 5km parkrun for the sixth time in 24 appearances. He clocked 17 minutes, 22 seconds. Suzie Bush was fourth overall and first woman (17:50,) taking 15 seconds off her time on her previous appearance in the event and putting her third on the all-time women’s leaderboard for the event.

WINNER WILL: Belgrave Harriers’ Will Cockerell beat a 560-strong field to win the Bushy Park parkrun. His time of 16 minutes, 20 seconds was just 16 seconds outside his best time for the course as he recorded his seventh win in 24 appearances. Anthony Jackson, of Sittingbourne Striders, was second (17:13), with St Mary’s Richmond’s Mark Gratton third (17:33). Sharon Andrew, of 26.2 Road Runners Club, was first woman (21:19), two seconds ahead of Sandra Cragg, with Epsom Allsorts’ Lillias Griffith third (21:28) on her event debut.

WARD’S WOODS: Belgrave also provided the winner in Banstead Woods with Richard Ward leading home a 169-strong field in 16:51 to post his 24th win in 29 appearances in the event. Sutton & District’s Grace O’Leary won the women’s event for the fifth time in 19:23 just ahead of Reigate Priory’s Sally Read-Cayton (19:26).

PALACE TRAP: Hercules Wimbledon’s James Trapmore won the Crystal Palace parkrun on his event debut in 16:49. Clapham Chasers’ Rachel Bentley (21:56) won the women’s race for the second time in five appearances. Joseph Chang, of 26.2 Road Runners Club, made a winning debut in the Bedfont Lakes event (18:07).

NO STRAGGLERS: Stragglers’ runners dominated the Kingston event with Roy Reeder (18:11), Evan Bond (19:27) and Andrew Lane (19:38) taking the first three places and Sonia Bandeira (20:48) first woman. Sutton Runners’ Jenny Sinfield (22:09) was second in the women’s race.

THIRD TIME LUCKY: Tadworth veteran David Williamson also clocked a personal best time 18:18 in winning the Roundshaw Downs race. It was his first win after finishing runner-up on his two previous appearances in the event. Striders of Croydon’s Taylor Huggins (18:41) and Damien Macenhill (19:03) also clocked personal bests in finishing second and third.
