Brilliant news. We walked from Ewell to Dorking to view the cycle race and passed Cherkley on the footpaths (needless to say the walk took in about three golf courses already). I was appalled the chalk downland was basically a lunar landscape of craters and spoil. Unbelievable.
Just shows the arrogance of these people and the council who should eat humble pie and apologise for giving it the nod in the first place.
