A motorist found himself in a sticky situation after taking a shortcut too far.
The Ford Fiesta was left wedged for days between two solid bollards in a cycle-only track in Old London Road, Kingston.
Chairman of Kingston cyclists Jon Fray spotted the parking blunder as he cycled through Kingston on Monday afternoon.
He said: “I didn’t actually see it happen I was just cycling along and saw it stuck.
“I was a bit incredulous really, I think he was a bit daft to try to drive down there to be honest.”
Mystery surrounds the car’s vanishing act on Tuesday morning.
Kingston Council and town centre managers Kingstonfirst said they were aware of the car but did not take it away.
A tow truck was spotted at the scene by Mr Fray at about 5pm on November 21, but recovery firm On time could not confirm if it had removed the car.
Kingston police were called to reports of a road traffic accident on Sunday. A man was arrested at 4.05am.
