Adventure-junkies from New Malden and Hook will be sweating it out next month, in a charity dash across the Indian sub-continent.

Andy Watson and Dan Lucas, both 27, from Motspur Park, and 26-year-old Olivia Duggal from Hook, have signed up to drive 4,000km in tiny three-wheeled motorised rickshaws.

Mr Watson said: “We just wanted to do something different from the usual holiday experience.

“Dan agreed once he had worked out how to record Hollyoaks and Olivia was drunk when she agreed.”

Charities Mercy Corps and Frank Water Projects hope Rickshaw Run on March 28 will raise more than £75,000 to help bring clean water to developing countries.

Under the team name Kiss My Rickshaw, the trio have already collected more than the minimum entry fee of £1,000 and host a raffle night in the Common Room, Wimbledon Village, on March 13, with the top prize a day out watching tennis at Wimbledon’s Centre Court.

To donate or buy a raffle ticket call Olivia Duggal on 07985 195057 or visit justgiving.com/kissmyrickshaw.
