‘Talking of Trains’ launches for its 57th year on Wednesday 20th September. Resident lecturer Dick Crane will be back to present a series of talks on many aspects of railways – historical and the future, and traction from steam to modern electric/diesels.
He will be closely following the take-over of the railways in this area by the new First MTR franchise. The programme will also include many guest speakers. Topics will include ‘The Railways of Dorset, Past and Present’,’ A review of the Chiltern Lines’ and a look back at the former Regional Railways by Railway Supremo Chris Green.
