John Lewis employees in Kingston celebrated their annual bonus this week.

Employees of the partnership will be receiving an 11 per cent bonus this year – equivalent to six weeks pay.

Dan Cooke, head of branch at John Lewis Kingston, said: "Partners in Kingston worked tremendously hard to deliver a fantastic year for the branch.

“Last year saw us celebrate the partnership’s 150 year anniversary and we worked closely with our community to support charities and local groups.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our 923 partners [staff] for their continued hard work and delivering fantastic customer service throughout the year and on a thoroughly deserved partner bonus."

This year’s bonus is down on last year’s 15 per cent and the year before’s 17 per cent.

But Rich Fielder, 30, who has worked at the partnership for nine years in Kingtson’s womenswear section, said: “I am very excited to say I will be spending my bonus this year on my wedding.

“We have been planning it for two years.”

This year the partnership’s annual profits fell to £342.7m – although profits at John Lewis were up by 10.8 per cent to £250.5million, with growth particularly shown online.
