A former Kingston school student is heading Down Under in the hope of landing the so-called ‘Best Job in the World’.

Ex-Tiffin Girl Holly Easterbrook, 23, has beaten 600,000 other candidates from all over the world to compete in the final of Tourism Australia’s global competition to find fun representatives to help promote tourism in the country.

She is in the running to be named the country’s new “Chief Funster”, which involves blogging, tweeting and reviewing events festivals and tournaments from New South Wales.

She will now fly to Sydney along with two other finalists from America for the final stage of the competition, taking part in impromptu social media challenges, conferences and VIP events.

Ms Easterbrook said: "I threw my heart, soul and every minute of my time into making sure I made the final three.

“I think ecstatic doesn't even come close to how I felt when I saw the email congratulating me.

“I'm not entirely sure it has even fully sunk in yet though - when I land in Sydney I think it may hit me."

"I absolutely believe I can win it. I have as good a chance as anyone, and I am determined to show Tourism Australia everything I have to offer from the second I step off the plane."

Actress Ms Easterbrook left Tiffin Girls’ School in 2007 and then attended Sir Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts.

She said: "I am still great friends with lots of my year from Tiffin who have all been amazingly supportive.

“I even received a tweet from an ex-Tiffin girl the other day, congratulating me and backing me as an ex-Tiffiner to go all the way."
