A five-month-old baby will participate in a fun run next month in memory of her great grandfather.

Mabel Jones will be pushed along by her parents, Charlie and Sam Jones, both 30, to raise money for Princess Alice Hospice.

Mr Jones said: “Princess Alice Hospice took great care of my grandfather. I was a student at the time and remember coming to visit him and was impressed by the level of care provided and how each nurse helped him to retain his dignity.”

Mr Jones’ grandfather, Frank Dooley, received care from the charity in 2001.

The run, which will take place in Bushy Park on Sunday, December 2, is one of a number of Santa Fun Runs organised by the charity every Christmas.

Mrs Jones said: “We are looking forward to being among a crowd of hundreds all raising money for a very important local charity.”

Another run will take place at Richmond Park on Sunday, December 9.
