A One Stop convenience store will open in place of The Maverick pub on Cox Lane. The convenience store will be open from 6am until 11pm seven days a week. One Stop is an expanding retail convenience business with already five hundred stores in England and Wales. The store will sell everything from groceries and newspapers to snacks and alcohol.

Cox Lane, located in North East Chessington, finds itself a considerable distance from any of the local shopping streets. A local resident explained that it is the ideal place to open the new convenience store: ‘It’s a good idea – previously I have had to walk to Hook or North Parade for the nearest shops. The store is perfectly located for local residents’.
