A girl is in a critical condition after falling from a height queuing at Chessington World of Adventures.

Jessica Blake, 4, is reported to have fallen through a gap on a rope bridge while queuing for the Tomb Blaster ride.

She suffered fractured ribs, a fractured skull, blood on her brain, and liver and kidney damage after the fall on Thursday.

She is currently at St George's Hospital, Tooting, in a critical condition.

Steve Poullos said yesterday evening on the theme park's Facebook site: "Our little niece is still fighting for her life, we are all very worried."

The theme park left a message saying: "Everyone at the resort is very concerned about your niece and our thoughts and best wishes are with your family at this time."

Jennie O'Sullivan wrote: "We were there when this happened and didn't see any movement. My little boy and husband saw it happen and were so upset as was I seeing her laying there...how could this happen?"

Carolyn Doyle, who said she had witnessed the fall, said: "My boys have not stopped asking how she is."
