Anthony Watson did not really put a foot wrong, he just came up against someone bigger than him on Friday night.
The 21-year-old former St Goerge's College student was beaten to a cross field kick by giant wing Nemani Nadolo, for Fiji’s only try of the game as the minnows threatened to spoil the party at Twickenham stadium.
England, who had raced into a 15-0 lead, held off the spirited Pacific islanders to secure a 35-11 win that featured two tries for Harlequins full back Mike Brown.
"Nemani was a real challenge,” said England head coach Stuart Lancaster.
“He is a star of the southern hemisphere, but I thought Anthony did well.
“The kick for Nadolo's try was a great kick from their 10. He is a great athlete."
