Twickenham homeowners renting spare parking spaces are set to make more than £100,000 during this year's RBS 6 Nations.

About 246,000 supporters are due to attend England fixtures at Twickenham stadium during February and March.

With official stadium parking costing £40-a-game, driveway parking in the roads nearby costs an average of £20, according to peer-to-peer parking website JustPark.

Schools benefit from providing parking on match days as well, with St Richard Reynolds Catholic College raising £1,000 during November's internationals.

The money raised was spent on a new minibus for the school's sports teams.

Driveway rental is a trend that has been on the increase since Communities Secretary Eric Pickles endorsed the letting of private parking spaces at residential properties in 2013.
