Bank of England have crashed out of the London leagues after a final day defeat condemned them to relegation.

The Roehampton-based side lost 41-10 at home to London New Zealand to finish the London Three North West season second bottom.

Cheshunt’s 21-8 win at Haringey Rhinos meant Bank’s result on Saturday was immaterial as even victory over London New Zealand would not have kept them up.

The drop comes after a miserable run of form that saw them lose 11 of their 13 matches since December 3, drawing one and winning the other, and they must now face up to life in the Surrey leagues next season.

They will be one tier ahead of Earlsfield sides Bec Old Boys and Battersea Ironsides.

Ironsides just about claimed bragging rights over their derby rivals in Surrey Two, finishing in fifth, two points ahead of sixth-placed Bec.

Bec ended the stronger thanks to a 50-5 win at Worth Old Boys, while Battersea lost 38-17 at home to Old Rutlishians.

Bec could still end the season with silverware as they are in the last eight of the Incentive FM Surrey Shield cup competition.

They are due to face Old Cranleighans this Saturday for a semi-final place.
