Tom Onslow-Cole goes into this weekend’s BTCC second round far more prepared than the first round – for starters, he’s actually had time behind the wheel.

Team Hard has continued to tweak the New Malden man’s NGTC Volkswagen Passat ahead of this weekend’s Donington Park meeting, leaving Onslow-Cole in positive mood.

The 25-year-old said: “We are not quite hitting the ground running yet, but we’ve not stood still since the first round.

“After seeing the performance of the car when we were on the back foot at Brands, I am excited to see where we set off with a neutral start.

“Getting the car to the optimum level can take quite a long time, but these next two meetings are going to be key to getting us where we want to be.”

Races at Donington start on Sunday, with qualifying and practice on Saturday.
