Teddington boxer Joe Teal is one step closer to becoming the latest big-name fighter to come out of Dale Youth Boxing Club.
The 23-year-old was crowned ABA national featherweight class B champion last weekend at the England Boxing Elite Development Championships.
Fighting in front of more than 200 fans at the Rainton Meadows Arena in Tyne & Wear, Teal beat Jack Kelly, out of Wirral Boxing Club, in all three rounds for a unanimous points victory.
Teal, who trains under the guidance of Mick Delaney, is hoping to follow in the foot-steps of former Dale Youth fighters George Groves and James De Gale.
