Bradley Skeete is ready to battle Colin Lynes for the English welterweight title after comfortably outpointing Dee Mitchell last Saturday at Wembley Arena.

The 25-year-old southern area welterweight champion from Battersea registered a six round 60–54 points win against a much heavier opponent - extending his unbeaten record to 12 fights and setting himself up nicely for his match-up against Hornchurch-based 35-year-old Lynes for the vacant English title at The Copper Box in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on September 21.

“It was good to get six rounds in and now I’m more than ready to get back in and fight Colin Lynes,” said former Earlsfield ABC representative Skeete.

“I’m a welterweight so I made the weight easy but this was just a keep busy fight for me. Dean Powell (his matchmaker) got me Mitchell who is a light-middleweight and obviously a bit heavier than me but I was comfortable with that.

“I didn’t get caught in any silly shots so it was good a six rounder for me.”

Meanwhile, David Haye will be involved in yet another all-British heavyweight money spinning blockbuster on September 28.

This time the 32-year-old former world WBA heavyweight champion from Clapham will meet 21-fight unbeaten Tyson Fury at Manchester Arena.

And Haye, who beat Dereck Chisora in five rounds last July, believes his fight with fellow world title contender Tyson will be great for British boxing.

"This fight is great for British boxing,” he said.

“The last few years boxing hasn't had that month-by-month coverage that one would like.

"It will really capture the public's imagination and once he (Fury) is dispatched, I think they’ll be very happy."
