Margate battled back from 2-0 down to earn a point against Canvey Island on Saturday.
Danny Heale's free kick gave the Islanders a seventh-minute lead and James Rowe added a second after 28 minutes.
Margate newcomer Craig Cloke revived his side's hopes with a goal on the stroke of half-time before the lively Grant salvaged a point with 11 minutes left.
