Croydon Athletic will make their case to the Football Association today as the hearing into their alleged 24 breaches of FA rule E1(b) takes place.

The charges relate to the payment of players under written contract when disgraced former owner Mazhar Majeed was in charge.

If found guilty, they could be fined or docked points, which would put their already precarious league position in doubt.

A 2-1 home defeat to Folkestone Invicta on Saturday was their seventh in a row in the league and saw them fall into the relegation places ahead of Saturday’s trip to Ramsgate.
