Kingstonian captain Alan Inns broke his goalscoring duck for the club this term and boss Tommy Williams says it was nothing more than he deserved.

The Hampton & Richmond Borough and AFC Wimbledon hero headed in his side's winner in the 1-0 triumph over Enfield Town on Monday.

The result fired Ks into the play-off places as it stretched their unbeaten league run to 12 matches.

And Williams was only too pleased to see Inns back on the scoresheet.

"Alan has been an excellent leader for us on and off the pitch this season," he said.

"He fully deserved his goal and it was great to see him get his first one of the season.

"He has been putting in some fine performances of late and the goal caps that nicely."

Ks, who beat Leatherhead 5-1 in the FA Trophy on Saturday, have not lost in the league since a 3-0 home defeat to Dulwich Hamlet on August 31.

And Williams believes his men's efforts can only get stronger.

"There have been a few draws in this run and but I'm pleased we are still picking up points and grinding out results," he added.

"We have come through a difficult period. September we knew would be tough because of the injuries and suspensions we had.

"And October was always going to be difficult because of the number of fixtures we had and the teams we would be playing against.

"We have come through it, but there is still a long way to go and a lot of football to be played."
