Assistant manager Graham Harper is hopeful boss Tommy Williams can sweet talk Welling United in to extending Charlie Penny and Malachi Hudson’s loan spell at Kingsmeadow, writes Stuart Amos.
Penny, right, took his Ks tally to four goals in five Ryman Premier League appearances with a match winning double in Saturday’s 3-2 triumph over Wingate & Finchley.
Hudson scored his first goal for the club with the opener in the same game.
The pair arrived at the club on January 24 – having penned month-long deals – and have helped Ks up to within touching distance of the top five with three wins in five matches.
And Harper, whose side face a tricky trip to Billericay Town this weekend, is hoping they will be around for a little while yet.
“They [Penny and Hudson] have done well for us and Charlie was in the right place at the right time to score the winner,” said Harper.
“Tommy is discussing extending their loan spells with the Welling management this week.
“They have made a difference in the past couple of weeks and hopefully they will continue to do that for a while yet.”
