Kingstonian hotshot Andre McCollin has joined Aldershot of the Conference Premier on a free transfer.

The striker, who has hit 10 goals so far this season and bagged 30 last term, trained with his new team-mates this morning (Thursday).

The Shots, managed by former Brentford boss Andy Scott, have struggled for goals this season - scoring 17 in 16 outings, and they have signed the 29-year-old until the end of the season.

Scott said: "We feel that Andre can fit into the team really well.

"He's got a good goalscoring record, plenty of energy, is quick and strong and holds the ball up well."

The Ks are 11th in Ryman Division One South, while the Shots are 15th in the Conference Premier.

McCollin's departure will put the Ks goal-scoring emphasis on Nathaniel Pinney and Elvis Hammond, who between them have scored 14 goals.

Kingstonian co-chairman Mark Anderson said: "It is with mixed feelings that I see Andre leave.

"I am delighted for him that he has another chance at what in effect is a professional set up two divisions higher than we are, but disappointed that we will be losing a top striker, a team player, and a very nice man to boot.

"We have always said that we would not stand in the way of a player making upward progression and we stand by that.

"Andre was not working and the excellent terms offered to him by Aldershot along with Conference football made the decision for him. We all wish him well.”
