Charlie Moone is back at Hampton & Richmond Borough.

The striker, who was top scorer at the Beveree last season with 24 goals, signed forms on Thursday night after a brief stint at Boreham Wood did not work out.

Moone left Beavers for Boreham Wood in March, but work commitments left the 24-year-old struggling to commit to the club – making just 10 appearances and scoring one goal.

Since the end of the season, managers Paul Barry and Darren Powell have been working to get Moone back, giving the prolific hitman the chance to hit the six goals he needs to reach a half-century for the club.

He said: “It's great to be back at Hampton. I'm really fond of the club and I'd like to thank Paul, Powelly and Steve [Mcpherson] for making it possible.

“I played some of my best football here last season, and I am looking to replicate that this season.

“A lot of the squad from last season have stayed, which is great news. I think we have a good thing going here."

Also returning is midfielder Tom Hickey after the 20-year-old failed to make the grade as a trialist at League One Brentford.

Finally, Marcus Rose has made the switch to the Beavers from Maidenhead - the 23-year-old defender had been out on loan last season at Beaconsfield SYCOB and Harrow Borough.
