Dover Athletic striker Stefan Payne has thrown down the gauntlet to Crystal Palace ahead of their FA Cup third round clash in January.

The mid-table Conference Premier outfit were handed the dream tie of a visit from a Premier League side in what is a banana skin for Neil Warnock and his men.

Payne said: “I’m sure the place will be packed out and the fans will be behind us as they have been all season.

“It’s not going to be easy as some people think for them to come here and get a win, I’m very confident we can get something out of the game with the quality we have in our side to keep them out and get goals.”

Whites defender Tyrone Sterling said: “Buzzing for a great fixture against a Premier League club at home.

“People will see us as underdogs we are hoping that our winning mentality and good form at home will get us through this tie.

“Bring it on.”
