Brentford's Rosler thirsty for more

Brentford may have surpassed their pre-season goals this week, but manager Uwe Rosler wants more.

The German joined the club in the summer and set a top 10 finish for the Bees as the minimum in his debut campaign in the hot seat.

That target was achieved thanks to Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Notts County at Griffin Park, which means they can no longer finish below 10th.

But, with the play-offs only three points away and a crunch game at fellow play-off chasers Stevenage to come this Saturday, Rosler is hungry for more success.

“We have more points than last year and play better football than last year,” he said.

“But we are ambitious and want more.

“We don’t want to wait until next year, we want to do it now and we’re not giving this chance away without a fight, that’s for sure.

“Obviously, the games are running out.

“We probably need to win all three or at least two and a draw in the third as a minimum.

“We have a difference of three points but a better goal difference than Notts County in sixth. Stevenage won mid-week and are now ahead of us and we play them tomorrow so it is in our own hands.

“There is no reason to panic.”
