Republic of Ireland boss Martin O’Neill has promised Brentford’s Alan Judge a chance at landing a place in his squad for Euro 2016, but the midfielder is taking nothing for granted.

The 27-year-old was an unused substitute in the first leg of the Irishmen’s 3-1 aggregate qualification play-off triumph over Bosnia- Herzegovina last week that booked O’Neill’s men a place on the plane to France.

Judge, who sat out Monday's 2-0 second leg win, got his call up after collecting the Championship player of the month award for October, but is still to make his senior international debut.

O’Neill has told him he will get his chance to impress in March and Judge, who is expected to feature when Nottingham Forest visit Griffin Park tomorrow, will bust a gut to make certain he takes the opportunity.

“I was only on the bench last week, but I’m still proud of the achievement because everyone in the country loves the face the team are going to the Euros,” he said.

“Martin has told me I will get my chance in March if I keep doing what I’m doing, but I cannot just assume I’ll get my debut.

“I’m not getting too far ahead of myself. I don’t only want my debut I want to get in that squad.

“There is lots of football still to be played this season. I’ve got one award and I want another.”

“I’m still creating goals, but something that was missing last year was scoring them and I want that to change.”
