Brentford boss Mark Warburton has insisted his men will bounce back from only their second defeat in their past 26 League One outings.

A Kieran Agard double and one from substitute Haris Vuckic sent Brentford to a 3-0 defeat at Rotherham United on Tuesday - a result that saw them lose ground on league leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Leyton Orient's draw at home to Oldham Athletic brought some comfort to the 575 travelling fans at the New York Stadium as it meant the Bees retained a three point advantage over their third-placed rivals.

Brentford - who had won four and draw one of their previous five games since a 3-0 defeat to Wolves - travel to Oldham Athletic on Saturday before returning to Yorkshire three days later to take on Sheffield United.

And Warburton insisted their would be a reaction.

"They are a professional group of players. They are towards the top of the league and there is a lot of quality in that group too," he said.

"They professional pride will have been hurt by that and I have no doubt they will come back strong.

"Our only focus now is Oldham. We need to get to 94 or 95 points and to do that we need five wins.

"They are all important games now whether they are games against teams at the top or towards the bottom."

Agard fired home from the spot on 14 minutes after Alan Judge had felled James Tavernier and the 24-year-old striker scored his 19th goal of the campaign when he drove home from inside the box on the stroke of half time to double his side's advantage.

Brentford improved in the second half but their only chance of note was a 70th minute Jonathan Douglas header that was comfortably saved by Millers keeper Adam Collin.

And Vuckic beat Bees keeper David Button at the near post in stoppage time to compound Brentford's misery.

"We weren't brave enough in our decision making. We never played behind them or got forward," added Warburton.

"You get out of the game what you put in to it and apart from a few passages of play we were not clinical enough.

"We worked hard and threatened in the second half, but we were not good enough and were beaten by the better team on the night."
