Brentford have been wheeling and dealing as the January transfer window action hots up at Griffin Park.

Boss Mark Warburton has signed Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom on a one-month loan, while Farid El Alagui has left for north of the border.

Akpom, 18, has made two senior appearances for the Gunners as well as representing England at U16 and U17 level, and scoring six goals in 11 outings for the U19s.

"I am delighted to welcome Chuba to the club for what will be his first loan spell away from his home club," Warburton said.

"I have enjoyed watching Chuba's development over the past two seasons and particularly noticed his contribution for Arsenal in the NextGen Series tournament.

“He is a strong, quick player with an excellent touch and good vision.”

Meanwhile, El Alagui has joined Dundee United until the end of the season – subject to international clearance.

The Frenchmas has made 16 appearances for Brentford this season, scoring six goals.

The Bees have also recruited midfielder Alan Judge from Blackburn Rovers until the end of the season, while the loan spells of George Saville and Marcello Trotta have been extended until the summer.

Warburton said: “George and Marcello have made an excellent contribution to the season so far.

"I have every confidence that they will continue to have a very strong influence in future games.

"Thanks to Chelsea and Fulham for their co-operation and we look forward to seeing them develop in the months ahead."

On Judge’s arrival, Warburton added: “"He is a good Championship player and is a positive addition to our squad.

"Alan offers us options, both wide and centrally, and has a good character."
