Kingstonian boss Tommy Williams has been impressed with former Walton Casuals man Meyrick James-Lewis this pre-season, but is yet to offer him a deal.
The 23-year-old, who was one of the stars as the Stags avoided the Ryman Division One South drop last term, is on trial at Kinsgmeadow and featured in Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Whyteleafe and Monday’s 1-0 defeat to Chelsea.
“He has done very well so far,” said Williams.
“He is a talented player with some great ability and a good range of passing.
“We’re just having a closer look at him.”
New Stags chief Anthony Gale is already preparing for life without James-Lewis having signed former Crystal Palace and Crawley Town winger Tyrone Berry and 22-year-old left back Peter Wedgeworth.
Captain Quincy Rowe, Luke Medley, Billy Dunn and Gabriel Odunaike have already committed to next term, which will see home games played at Ryman Premier League Merstham’s Moatside stadium, while Waterside Drive is redeveloped.
