Ks boss Tommy Williams has confirmed Mark Bitmead did return to Ashford Town(Middlesex) last week, but just for the weekend.

Bitmead made his Ks debut off the bench last weekend, but was back on Combined Counties Premier League duty on Saturday – scoring in a 3-1 win for the Tangerines over Frimley Green.

His departure saw the return of Charlie Penny from Welling United, who also found the net in Saturday’s 3-0 triumph over Peacehaven & Telscombe.

“We signed Mark [Bitmead] on a dual registration and we knew then that he was going to be away with work over the Easter period,” said Williams.

“He was only going to sit on the bench for us at the weekend with Charlie coming back, so we thought it was best he went and got minutes under his belt before he went away to keep his fitness up.

“Charlie was originally signed on loan until the end of the season, but he had call back clause in the deal.

“He did go back to them, but Welling had a last minute change of heart and he is back with us now.

“He will be with us for the rest of the season, as will Mark when he returns from his break.”
