Top athletes stop into Croydon
10:24am Wednesday 18th July 2012 in Sport By Nick Hitchens
Some of the world’s top athletes spent the weekend at one of the borough’s top hotels ahead of competition at the Aviva London Grand Prix.
Sprinter Kim Collins, who is set to compete at his fifth Olympics, Olympic and World Championship pole vault gold medallist Steve Hooker, 400m world champion Kirani James and our own Mo Farah were at the Croydon Park Hotel from Friday to Sunday during the event, at Crystal Palace.
To celebrate, the Altyre Road hotel asked athletes to sign Olympic theme T-shirts, alongside photographs of themselves, which will be donated to Croydon-based charities for auction following the Games.
