More than 200 youngsters from Epsom & Ewell did the borough proud last weekend at the P&G Surrey Youth Games.

The defending champions finished runners up to Woking this time around.

However, they still came home from the Surrey Sports Park in Guildford, having competed with 10 other boroughs, with 19 medals, including seven golds.

There were team golds for girls rugby, senior table tennis and lacrosse, as well as individual golds for Alice Pendry-Humm, Amelia Askew and Maxwell Jones (junior judo), and Edward Russell (senior judo).

The teams in senior badminton, senior squash, junior squash and touchtennis won silver, and there were bronze medals in junior badminton, girls hockey, boys hockey, junior boys judo and netball.

Romain Chauvin won silver in the junior judo, while William James and Shanie Thomas won bronze in the senior judo.
