Harlequins hooker Dave Ward will face no action over an allegation he bit Saracens' Jackson Wray in Saturday's win at the Stoop.

The 30-year-old was charged with acts contrary to good sportsmanship, contrary to Law 10.4(m) after being cited in the wake of the 29-23 triumph.

The former Cornish Pirate pleaded not guilty and saw his citing dismissed by an RFU disciplinary panel in London on Tuesday.

Under the microscope: Harlequins lock James Horwill

Lock James Horwill had also been charged for punching or striking an opponent, contrary to Law 10.4(a), after he was alleged to have struck Saracens lock George Kruis in the first half of the match - an incident that saw the latter leave the field on a stretcher.

The former Australian pleaded not guilty to the offence and the citing was dismissed.

Saracens' Rhys Gill also appeared infront of the panel - chaired by Dr Julian Morris - at the London Bloomsbury Holiday Inn after being sent off for a dangerous second half tackle on Quins centre George Lowe.

Gill was handed a three-week suspension and fined £500.

Ward and Horwill are free to return to action with immediate effect, while Gill will be kicking his heals until February 2.
