The win against Havant was a real signal of intent from Sutton United, the sheer dominance throughout the game showing we have what it takes to make the play-offs.

Scoring three goals to avoid a worrying last 10 minutes was nice, but the way we defended was arguably the best thing about the day – Havant never really created anything of any significance whatsoever.

It is worth noting this win was achieved with several players out injured, including the influential Tom Bolarinwa.

It is perhaps frustrating then that we now face a break from league action, with a trip to Concord Rangers in the FA Trophy coming up.

The concept of the Trophy is an interesting one in theory – seeing Sutton United at Wembley would be absolutely fantastic.

In reality the competition can be a bit of a drag sometimes, reflected in the poor crowds pulled in compared to league action.

A trip to Concord Rangers hardly captures the imagination, especially in November with us having to go there in the league the week after.

But one thing can lead to another very quickly – you have to beat teams like Concord if you want to take part in the showpiece event in May.

While the FA Trophy may not "come alive" until the later stages it would be great to see the same support we have for league games at Concord next week, and it will hopefully all seem worth it in May.#
