Ks assistant boss Graham Harper has backed his team to repeat their 12-match unbeaten league run.

Met Police made it unlucky 13 for Kingstonian as they triumphed 2-1 at Imber Court to hand Ks boss Tommy Williams his first Ryman Premier League defeat since August 31.

The Kingsmeadow men returned to winning ways with a 2-1 League Cup win over Farnborough on Monday night through late goals from Aaron Goode and Pelayo Pico Gomez.

And Harper is confident it can signal the start of another surge.

“We were unbeaten for two months, but slipped out of the play-offs, which probably tells you there were too many draws in there,” he said.

“I cannot see us going on a terrible run where we lose a number of games on the bounce. We are in a better place than we were last season.

“If your bad patch is a few draws then I’ll take that all day long.”

Blues boss Jimmy Cooper agreed Ks had the strength to maintain a promotion push, despite his men snatching victory through Adrian Markus and Sam Butler.

"It was a great result for us," he added.

"They might have had a few chances and decent shots, but that is football. If you don't score you don't win.

"A draw was probably a fair result, but I was impressed with Ks. They have a really strong squad and are playing good football.

"I expect them to be there or there abouts come the end of the season."
