Croydon Harriers were in action in the 2XU Surrey League action on Saturday.

It was Dom Nolan who led a 22-strong men’s squad to a second place Division Two finish at Esher Common, with an individual win over the five-mile course, clocking 28 minutes 52 seconds.

Jake English (23rd, 31:02), Alex Penfold (30th, 31:12), David White (31st, 31:28), Simon Loughran (36th, 31:47), Ernie Hann (39th, 31:54) and David Brown (41st, 32:01) enjoyed solid packing to back up Nolan’s win.

The remainder of the scoring 10 consisted of Alan Burn (second M50, 32:17), Glenn Barden (60th, 33:03) and ultra-marathoner Mark Lynch (68th, 33:33).

Croydon finished runners-up on the day to Dorking, but remain first overall with two fixtures remaining.

Also at Esher Common, the U13 girls finished 10th overall in the team race.

They were spearheaded by Amelia Middleton in 20th. Kyra Sethna-McIntosh (26th), Leanne Moore (50th) and Cassandra Howard (63rd) completed the team.

Jessica Moore (17th) and Megan Driver (21st) kept the flag flying in the U15 girls race with the team finishing eighth.

In the women's race, Naomi Carty made her senior debut finishing 289th over the 6km course.

Jules Williams followed nine places later in the 404-strong field. The team placed 29th in the Second Division.

At the Surrey Boys League at Wimbledon Common, Jordan O’Dongo (39th) and Isaac Flanagan (43rd) were the club’s leading lights.

Neal Kesteron (99th), Dane Lawrence (100th), Theo Flanagan (105th), Zachary Blair (111th) and Caleb Drummond (116th) completed the team’s efforts. The team finished ninth overall.
