Back in the days when floppy disks were still the best way to save your data, a different type of video gamer was battling the zombies of the underworld.

On Saturday, fans of 1990s classics such as Tekken 2 and Sonic the Hedgehog headed down to the launch of a new video games store.

Retro Game Base offered enthusiasts the chance to play arcade games as well as browse the shelves for some long since forgotten titles.

The shop in Streatham High Road will be open every Tuesday to Saturday, from 11am to 6pm.
