New cafe and co-working space opens in Croydon

After months of renovation Croydon's first cafe and co-working space has opened.

Matthews Yard, just off Surrey Street, was officially opened on April 21, with a party for 200 guests which featured entertainment from local bands and musicians.

The new 300sq metre venue has undergone extensive refurbishment and features a cafe, which is now open to the general public.

A 'members only' co-working area is set to open shortly, which will enable freelancers and sole-traders to work and utilise facilities such as computer printers and free wi-fi.

A canteen and bar will also open at the premises at a later date.

Saif Bonar, owner and founder of Matthews Yard, said: "After the negative way Croydon was portrayed after the riots, it's great to finally open Matthews Yard, a facility that will benefit the local community and a sign the area is recovering after the events of last August.

"It has taken a lot of hard work to get to this stage and I've had many sleepless nights.

"It's a great relief the business is now open and we look forward to serving our customers."

To mark the opening of Matthews Yard and to celebrate National Coffee Week, all coffee will cost £1 from the opening until April 29.

Very interesting subject, congratulations!
The coworking spaces as well as being an alternative to the crisis, it is much cheaper and convenient, because you do not have to worry about anything except the rent of your space.
Here in Brazil have greatly increased the demand for these spaces, and I was surprised at their efficiency!
I'm opening my company and I intend to install in a coworking space, because I can not and does not intend to make a large investment up front.
I visited some places this week, and I liked the most were the www.regus.com.br which is very nice but very expensive, and www.clubwork.com.br, which has a very different proposal, and is not as expensive I liked a lot, but inda not decided anything.
Next week I will visit other places and put my opinion here.
See you soon!
