An art exhibition celebrating friendship and artistic endeavour through a series of paintings, prints, photography and drawings is coming to Surbiton next month.

Su Collins, Lynne Humberstone and Andrea Robinson, who first met in October 2002 when they all attended life classes at Wimbledon School of Art, will be exhibiting their artwork at the Cornerhouse throughout October.

The October Project will feature portraits, figurative work, landscapes, collaged images, silkscreen printmaking and photography.

Mrs Collins, who lives in Surbiton, has been involved with the Cornerhouse for more than 10 years.

She studied history of art at Essex University and says she draws “for fun” using pencil and pastel to interpret the human form.

A gala night for people to meet the artists and talk to them about their work will take place on October 9 from 7pm to 9pm.

Admission is free and all are welcome. All the works in the exhibition are for sale. The October Project, the Cornerhouse, 116 Douglas Road, Surbiton KT6 7SB; October 1 to 26, free; call 07718 092818.
