Othello
Youngsters have a chance to experience a bit of Shakespeare as a special schools version of Othello goes on tour in Kingston.
The Rose Theatre and the Watermill Theatre have joined forces to help bring the famous bard’s work to a new generation, complete with accompanying study workshops, thanks to a £5,000 donation to fund the project.
Three professional actors will bring the story of celebrated general Othello to life and the effect that deceit and jealousy has upon his life.
With the cunning Iago slowly sending Othello mad with suggestions of his loved one’s infidelity, this story of love and lust unravels into a violent tragedy condensed into a 75-minute production by the two theatres.
Othello Schools’ Tour, September 17 to November 24, book through the Rose Theatre, 08444 821556 or visit rosetheatrekingston.org.
