It’s official. I live in a foodie house.

This hasn’t been good for me over the past few months, trying to slowly get rid of my excess baby weight, but I’ve now thrown that idea out with the recycling and embraced my new lumps and bumps with pride.

It hasn’t been helped by the fact my better half has been competing in this year’s Celebrity Masterchef and I’ve been his tasting guinea pig.

The only one who hasn’t moaned about the whole experience is Elijah.

I’ve discovered my son is a lover of food. And now with his dad’s newly found culinary skills, he’s been eating like a little prince.

Specially made meals by daddy with produce sourced organically – beef with butternut squash and apple, mild chicken korma and even freshly made fougasse bread to name but a few of his homemade specials.

Elijah loves his mealtimes and wolfs his food down as if there’s no tomorrow.

He’ll happily eat broccoli, avocado, parsnips, in fact anything that I’m eating he’ll also want to eat too.

So dad and son are sorted, while mummy has to grab what she can or just pop down to the Sainbury’s Local in her PJs.

Now I’m not complaining about Michael’s skills, as any man in the kitchen is a sight for sore eyes and the help has been much appreciated.

It has meant there is more time for me to vacuum, wash clothes, load the dishwasher and tidy the house.

It’s been great to watch Michael doing so well on Masterchef and Elijah has been glued to the screen trying to work out how daddy got into the telly.

But now it’s time for daddy to start treating mummy to some of his meals too. Chez Underwood is officially in business.
