Free insulation on offer in Kingston
9:23am Tuesday 28th August 2012 in News By Christine Fleming
People could get free loft and cavity insulation after Kingston Council secured national funding.
Kingston Council and specialist carbon reduction agency Climate Energy will offer the insulation this winter though the Carbon Emissions Reduction Target scheme.
The installation of loft and cavity wall insulation can in some cases reduce the cost of heating homes by about £300 according to research by the energy saving trust.
Councillor Sharon Hartley, lead member for sustainability and sport, said: “I urge our residents to arrange a visit, take advantage of free insulation and make a contribution to reducing their
impact on the environment. There are so many positive aspects to this scheme, not least that it will help residents to keep warm and save money this winter.”
To book an appointment and find out how to benefit from the scheme, residents should contact Climate Energy on 0800 6527206.
