Forensics at scene of suspected murder in Kingston
Detectives have launched a murder investigation after a woman was found dead in Kingston.
Police were called at about 2pm yesterday to a flat in Springfield Road, Kingston, after concerns were raised for the welfare of a woman.
Upon forcing entry, officers found the body of a 58-year-old woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
A police spokesman said officers believe they know the identity of the woman but are awaiting formal identification and confirmation that next of kin have been informed.
Officers from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command are investigating and a enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances.
A post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course.
