Kingston University celebrate community day
An Army band, cheerleaders and an Italian concert pianist are just some of the events held to celebrate the connection between Kingston University and the community.
A week-long programme of performances, attractions and workshops were held across the borough to mark the national universities week campaign.
Families and residents were encouraged to join in the activities in the Market Place, Dorich House Museum and Kingston Hill Campus, which ran from April 30 to May 3.
Kingston’s Vice-Chancellor professor Julius Weinberg said the week was a chance to celebrate everything the university could offer the wider community.
He said: “At Kingston University we are proud of being part of a much wider community.
“We are deeply involved in the locality – from our support of the Rose Theatre, to our academic researchers working with businesses and organisations in the borough, from our volunteering to our schools programme.”
