A fighting-fit 35-year-old has just scooped a gold medal for sparring at the taekwondo world championships in South Korea.
Croydon resident Katrina Todd took up the sport 10 years ago, when she started classes at her gym.
She is now a member of Focus Taekwondo in Surbiton, which sponsored her trip to the championships, along with Kinetic Taekwondo, based in Kingston.
Ms Todd also won gold at the world championships held in Birmingham three years ago, which her male colleagues are well aware of.
She said: “I work as a landscape gardener with six other men and if you want something they all say ‘We’ll do it, whatever you say’. It’s quite funny.”
Visit focustkd.com or kinetictkd.com if you would like to try the sport.
