An activity centre which was infested with bed bugs earlier this year has been given a seal of approval by a Sutton school.
In May, children from Coombe Junior School were forced to camp outside at Hindleap Warren in Sussex while their dormitories were sprayed with pesticide.
Pupils at Avenue Primary School in Sutton were this week the first guests in a new £1.6m accommodation block with 55 beds.
Phillip Hedger, the school’s deputy head, who has taken pupils to Hindleap Warren for 10 years, said: “The new accommodation block will make things even better. The children are really excited and I’m sure they’re going to get a lot out of it.”
